M163A1 Вулкан

The M163 VADS (Vulcan Air Defense System) is a SPAAG designed to replace the M42 in US service. Built upon the chassis of the M113, it is intended to serve alongside the M48 Chaparral in the short range air defense role. It lacks a search radar and must instead rely on an optical lead system and a short range tracking radar. They have found more success in conflicts as ground support weapons, much akin to the World War II-era Skink SPAA.
