The F/A-18 is the US Navy's newest multirole strike fighter, and is generally regarded as one of the most successful naval fighters of all time. Due to its excellent flight characteristics, modern avionics, and wide range of available guided and unguided ordnance, the F/A-18 is truly a jack-of-all-trades aircraft that compromises very little to achieve its performance.\n\nThis is the earliest model of F/A-18 put to sea, and does not feature the ability to employ laser-guided weapons unlike later models.
