Description
A US built tri-jet airliner, the DC-10 has two turbofans on underwing pylons and a third one at the base of the vertical stabilizer. The aircraft typically seats over 250 people and is particularly well known for a series of fatal accidents, particularly related to a flawed design of Cargo Hold door. The final nail was put into the coffin of the DC-10 by the advent of efficient twinjets in the US market and the oil crisis.
