Description
China acquired several SA.321 helicopters in the mid 1970s, in both ASW and SAR variants. From this, the SA.321 was then manufactured locally under license as the Z-8 starting in the 1980s. In service, it is roughly comparable to the SH-3, however submarine detection capabilities are more limited.
