Description
These ships are the successors to the Chengdu class, and mainly improves on the surface warfare capability by doubling the missile complement to four CSS-N-2 Safflower SSMs. The Jianghu II also substitutes twin 100mm gun mounts in place of the single 100mm mounts of the Jianghu I, at the cost of reduced anti-air capability having lost two 37mm mounts in the process to compensate for the heavier guns. ASW capability remains very weak, comprising only twin FQF-1200 ASW mortars and depth charge throwers.
