Description
The sole Wuhan-class (Type 033G1) is a modified Type 033 (which in itself is a Romeo derivative) with missile cells, to fire surface launched YJ-8 anti-ship missiles. Like certain Soviet missile submarines, the Wuhan-class must surface to fire its missile armament, but does not need to remain surfaced after firing.
