ERSTA Battery

The 12 cm tornautomatpjäs m/70 (Also known as ERSTA) is a Swedish coastal artillery piece designed as a replacement for older World War II-era guns. It is designed to defend vital areas such as ports from Soviet landing forces, as well as to perform area denial. These guns were connected to supporting installations which allowed crews to sustain themselves for up to 60 days, which would be important on a potential nuclear battlefield. Eight of these guns were also exported to Norway in the late 1980s.
