Description
Commissioned in the mid to late-1960s the Garcia-class are intended primarily to provide an anti-submarine capability for convoys and amphibious groups. The prime armament of these platforms is the AN/SQS-26 and ASROC and they were originally intended to carry the small DASH ASW UAV. However, after DASH failed the ships were rebuilt with hangars capable of supporting a SH-2F Seasprite.
