The HQ-61 is a Chinese surface-to-air missile, and is the very first naval SAM developed for the PLAN. While the missile was accepted into service in the 1980s, it has performance significantly worse than its contemporaries, and is roughly equivalent in performance to the American RIM-7E Sea Sparrow.
